World’s first Ferrari 296 Speciale Piloti to break the 1000 hp mark is here

The Ferrari 296 Speciale is already a pretty fast car. But things have been taken a step further. A heavily modified 296 Speciale Piloti—tuned by Brill Steel Motorsport in Italy—claims to have cracked the four-figure horsepower barrier.

From the factory, the Ferrari 296 Speciale is no slouch. It comes with a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 paired with an electric motor. Together they produce around 819 hp, good for 0–62 mph in under 3 seconds and a top speed beyond 205 mph.

The Piloti variant, inspired by Ferrari’s Le Mans-winning machine, adds bespoke styling to an already focused package. But this particular build takes things to the next level.

A video shared by Brill Steel Motorsport on social media shows the car on a dyno, with claimed outputs of 1000 hp and 1000 Nm (737 lb ft). There are further upgrades in the pipeline, including a flame-throwing exhaust setup. And judging by the current sound alone, it already delivers the kind of music that enthusiasts crave.
