Watch the 1000+ hp Aston Martin Valhalla powerslide over an icy road
Aston Martin recently unveiled the production version of its new mid-engined supercar, the Valhalla. The new plug-in hybrid model dubbed “baby Valkyrie” packs over 1000 hp and will pull off powerslides with ease. Aston Martin has demonstrated just that in its latest video shared on social media.
The Valhalla is Aston Martin’s first series production hybrid supercar. It is based on a carbon fibre monocoque and is powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 paired with an all-new 8-speed dual-clutch transmission, which incorporates an electric motor and an electronic rear differential. The ICE alone produces 817 hp, while three electric motors deliver an additional 248 hp, for a combined output of 1065 hp and 811 lb-ft of torque.
Aston Martin says the Valhalla is expected to complete the sprint from 0-62 mph in 2.5 seconds. It has an electronically limited top speed of 217 mph. The plug-in hybrid supercar can also cover 8.6 miles at speeds up to 80 mph on electric power only.
