In November 2017, Chevrolet took the wraps off the new Corvette ZR1. The claimed top speed of the car is 210 mph. However, the ZR1 was recently tested at the high speed track at Papenburg, Germany, where it clocked 214.88 mph. On its second run in the opposite direction, it did 210.20 mph. Thus, the average top speed was 212 mph, making it the fastest production Corvette ever made.

The 2019 Corvette ZR1 is powered by a 6.2-liter, supercharged V8 engine that develops 755 hp and 715 lb-ft of peak torque. GM offers an option of a 7-speed manual or 8-speed automatic transmission. The ZR1 is characterized by its large rear wing and a low front splitter, which is part of the optional ZTK Performance Package. This setup produces 950 lb of downforce. The performance upgrades also include modifications to the chassis and revised Magnetic Ride Control.
