In a social media video, the Toyota GR GT3 is sounding every bit as serious as it looks. The footage shows the track-focused machine being pushed hard around the Nurburgring.
Finished in a striking red and black combination, the car looks aggressive from every angle. The enormous rear wing immediately sets it apart from the road-going GR GT, while the rapid gear shifts and brutal V8 soundtrack make the car even more race-ready.
The Toyota GR GT3 has already been spotted testing alongside the GR GT at California’s Laguna Seca circuit, and development clearly remains intense. While Toyota has yet to reveal the final specifications, the GT3 is expected to use the same basic V8 powertrain as the road car, although its output could be different.
The road-going GR GT uses a new 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 paired with an electric motor integrated into an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. Combined output is rated at 640 hp and 627 lb-ft of torque, with power sent to the rear wheels.
The GR GT3 should take that formula further with a stronger focus on aerodynamics, track performance and outright speed.
