Wild Denza Z9 GT-nurburgring (3)

This wild Denza Z9 GT could be coming for Porsche’s Nurburgring record

Denza appears to be preparing something seriously wild for the Nurburgring. The premium Chinese brand has taken a heavily modified Z9 GT shooting brake to Germany’s famous Nordschleife, and its dramatic appearance suggests this is more than just a styling tweak.

Finished in a striking aqua shade with twin orange racing stripes, the prototype looks very much like a proper track weapon. An enormous swan-neck rear wing dominates the rear, while a huge diffuser, extended side skirts and other aerodynamic additions give the Z9 GT an aggressive stance. The front end receives a reshaped bumper and prominent splitter.

Denza has yet to reveal what has changed underneath, but there is speculation that this could be an attempt to challenge Porsche for the Nurburgring production EV record. The Porsche Taycan Turbo GT with the Manthey Kit currently holds the benchmark with a 6:55.533 lap.

The standard Z9 GT is already no slouch. In Australia, its electric version uses three motors producing a combined 850 kW (1140 hp). It can reportedly sprint from 0-62 mph in just 2.7 seconds. This prototype could be even more powerful and faster.
