This one-off Zagato coupe is based on the Alfa Romeo 8C
Zagato has built a custom one-off coupe for a special client. Based on the Alfa Rome 8C Competizione, the new 8C DoppiaCoda was recently unveiled at Villa d’Este on the shores of the picturesque Lake Como in Italy.
DoppiaCoda, which translates to “double tail” features an integrated rear wing that wraps around the rear fascia. It has Zagato’s signature double-bubble roof which seamlessly blends into the rear section. The front of the car features Alfa Romeo’s triple pod headlamps and the V-shaped grille in the centre.
Under the sculpted hood of the 8C DoppiaCoda is the same Ferrari-derived 4.7-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine as the 8C. It produces 444 hp and 354 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear axle via a 6-speed automatic transmission.
Last year, Zagato showcased the Alpine A110-based AGTZ Twin Tail. The 8C DoppiaCoda doesn’t have an extendable tail like the Alpine. Also, it is unlikely to go into limited production.
