Scoop: 2018 Bentley Continental GT Convertible
The next-gen 2018 Bentley Continent GT Convertible has been caught testing. The new luxury drop top can be seen here with a revised front end inspired by the EXP 10 Speed 6 Concept.
So what can we expect from the new Bentley Continental GT Convertible?
First of all, updated model will be based on an all-new, lightweight MSB platform jointly developed by Bentley and Porsche. It is the same architecture that will underpin the next-gen Porsche Panamera.

The Continental is one of the most heaviest luxury sports cars around with a total mass of 2.3 tonnes. By adopting the new framework for the 2018 Continental GT, engineers will be able to substantially cut down on mass.
Lower weight would mean better handling and performance and low consumption. According to Bentley top boss, the new Continental will be 300 kg lighter than the outgoing model.
On the current Continental range, you get to choose between a twin-turbo W12 or a V8 engine. For the next-generation Bentley plans to add more powertrains including a petrol V6 hybrid. The 600 hp W12 engine from the Bentayga will also be available along with an updated version of the 4.0-liter V8.
