It has been a decade since the 918 Spyder went out of production, but Porsche may finally be preparing its next flagship. According to reports in the German media, a standalone supercar code-named “S1” is currently in development.
The new Porsche S1 supercar is rumoured to be powered by an all-new flat-8 boxer engine. While specific technical details remain under wraps, the powerplant promises to deliver a distinct character separate from the 911’s iconic flat-six.
The report also sheds light on the price bracket that Porsche plans to target. The new S1 supercar could have a base price of €500,000, which translates to around $574,000 at current exchange rates.
On the other end of the spectrum, Porsche plans to introduce the all-electric 718 Boxster and Cayman. The new EVs are still under development. The former was recently spotted testing the United States.
