Porsche Panamera Hybrid beats Mercedes’ Nurburgring record by 3 seconds
The Porsche Panamera E-Hybrid has set a new Nurburgring lap record for ICE-based luxury cars. It lapped the 12.9-mile circuit in 7 min 24.17 seconds.
In 2020, Porsche had set a lap time of 7 min 29.81 seconds in a Panamera Turbo S. It was beaten by the Mercedes-AMG GT 63S four-door in the same year. The Mercedes completed a lap in 7 min 27.80 seconds.
Porsche has reclaimed the crown of the fastest production luxury sedan to lap the Green Hell with the new Panamera E-Hybrid. This top-of-the-line version is equipped with the new Porsche Active Ride chassis and comes with an optional Carbon Aerokit and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires.
The test car that set the record lap was installed with a racing seat and roll cage. Apart from these modifications, the car was in stock condition.
