Porsche 918 Spyder in Gulf livery sells for $3.2 million at auction
The base price for a Porsche 918 Spyder was just under $900,000 at the time of launch. A decade later, we can definitely say that the hypercar has aged well. In an age of EVs, the 918 is still holding strong, and the same is true for its value.
A factory Gulf-liveried Porsche 918 Spyder has just been sold at the Amelia Island auction for $3.2 million. Bidding started at $1.3 million, and the car ended up fetching $200,000 over its maximum estimated price.
This one-owner 918 Spyder has just 376 miles on its odometer. It is one of just two cars finished in the iconic Gulf livery and is equipped with the Weissach Package.
The Porsche 918 Spyder is powered by a 4.6-liter V8 engine paired with two electric motors. It has a combined output of 875 hp and 944 lb-ft of torque, which enables the all-wheel drive hypercar to accelerate from 0-62 mph in 2.6 seconds and has a top speed of 214 mph.
Last year, a 918 Spyder finished in Grand Prix White had sold for $3.93 million at the RM Sotheby’s Houston auction.
