Porsche 911 GT2 RS Leaks Ahead of Goodwood Debut

The 2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS was first unveiled at E3 2017. That was during the Forza Motorsport 7 press conference and even after the reveal Porsche decided to keep mum about it.

Well today, we have some leaked images of the 911 GT2 RS included our first look at the interior of the most powerful 911 ever. There’s still no official word from Porsche confirming the model. Although, we do expect a formal public reveal at the 2017 Goodwood Festival of Speed.

The 2018 GT2 RS is based on the second-gen 991. The base car being the 911 Turbo. Porsche drops the Turbo’s all-wheel drive system for a more lightweight single driven axle. This time the GT2 RS gets a steerable rear axle and torque vectoring for better maneuverability as well.

At its heart is a familiar flat-6 cylinder engine garnished with twin-turbochargers for an estimated peak output of around 700 hp.

On the outside, the 911 GT2 RS is very distinct. A wider and low front end dominated by enormous cooling vents. Vents on the front fenders and the Turbo scoop on the side. A massive adjustable spoiler at the back finishes off the downforce package.

The interior of the vehicle is pretty similar to other recent Rennsport models. The GT2 RS gets seats with a unique ‘Weissach RS’ engraving, red alcantara headliner and upholstery, carbon trim and a roll cage.
