Porsche has dropped a teaser of an upcoming special edition 911 that we had first reported in August 2022. The new 911 Heritage model is expected to be a homage to the iconic Porsche 356.
The teaser image shows a silhouette of a modern 911 with wide rear haunches and a familiar LED light bar at the back. At first glance, it appears to be a standard 911. However, there’s a clear hint in the teaser.
The 911 Heritage model is parked in a pit box, and out in the pitlane, is the Porsche 356 SL Coupe that won Le Mans on its debut. It took victory in its class at the 1951 Le Mans 24 Hours. The 356 SL featured a lightweight aluminium exterior and covered wheels for a more streamlined body.
According to our sources, the ‘Heritage Design Porsche’ is expected to be based on an existing 911 model, the details of which are still unknown. The special edition is likely to be offered in limited numbers. Rumors suggest that production could be limited to just 100 units.
