One-off Porsche 959 Speedster could go for $1.7 million at auction
RM Sotheby’s Milan auction will have a rather special Porsche 959 for sale. When we say “special”, we mean a one-of-a-kind Porsche 959 Speedster.
This unique 959 Speedster was built by master craftsman Karl-Heinz Feustel in 1989. However, it started life as a standard Porsche 959 ‘Komfort’, which was delivered to racing driver Jurgen Lassig, winner of the 24 Hours of Daytona and Le Mans runner-up. The car was involved in an accident sometime in 1988, after which Lassig sold it to Feustel.
Once in his possession, Feustel set about building the 959 Speedster at his workshop in Cologne, Germany. It is said that the build took over 4,000 hours.
The 959 Speedster is finished in Grand Prix White, which is complemented by a blue leather interior. It has an electrically operated soft top as well as a removable hardtop. The car also comes with an interchangeable ‘Speedster’ windscreen, spare door mirrors, and owner’s guides.
This one-off Porsche 959 Speedster will be auctioned on May 22. It is expected to fetch between $1.2 million and $1.7 million.
