Nuvolari without a roof? Audi says maybe

The stunning Audi Nuvolari may already be prepping for its next act. Just days after unveiling the hypercar, the four-ringed brand has hinted at a possible convertible version.

In a recent interview, Audi CEO Gernot Döllner stopped short of confirming a Nuvolari Spyder outright, but his response strongly suggested that a droptop variant is under consideration. While he ruled out building another 499 units, that comment appears to relate only to production numbers and not the possibility of a roofless version itself.

If it materialises, the Nuvolari Spyder would likely be produced in even more limited numbers than the coupe, which is capped at 499 units globally. Expect it to command a premium over the already eye-watering $700,000 starting price of the recently unveiled Nuvolari.

The move wouldn’t come as a surprise. The Nuvolari shares its underpinnings with the Lamborghini Temerario, which is also expected to get a convertible variant. That makes a folding-roof Audi Nuvolari feel almost inevitable.

For now, Audi hasn’t officially confirmed timelines or specifications, but the hints are clear.
