Nissan GT-R Sets new Record on the occasion of India’s Republic Day

Nissan India is celebrating the 68th Republic Day by setting a new world record in a 2017 Nissan GT-R. Nissan India is set to enter the Limca Book of Records for the world’s largest outline of country map- a feat which was achieved with the help of the monstrous Nissan GT-R.

Sambhar Lake is Rajasthan was chosen for the record attempt. The dried lake bed offers a flat, unrestricted area to create a map of India spanning 3 sq. km. The periphery of the map measured 14.7 km, 2.8 km across and almost 3 km in length. The GT-R was driven by professional rally driver Rahul Kanthraj demonstrating its speed and precision handling.

The Nissan GT-R was launched in India in December last year. India’s first 2017 Nissan GT-R was delivered to Bollywood actor and Nissan’s brand ambassador John Abraham.

The 2017 Nissan GT-R uses an updated 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 which now makes 565 hp. The new model retains its all-wheel drive system and a 6-speed dual-clutch gearbox- one of the most sophisticated transmissions out there. Equipped with launch control, the new GT-R can accelerate from standstill to 100 kph in just 2.9 sec and has a top speed of 315 kph.
