The AMG GT Roadster features a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 generating 476 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque. That’s enough to shoot the GT Roadster to 60 mph in roughly four seconds, en route to a top speed of 190 mph. The drone on the other hand, well, we have no idea of the power supply the drone in the video has, but it is good enough to propel it from a standstill to 60 mph in less than one second.
What’s the point of a drag race then, you might ask. Sure, the drone’s blistering acceleration helps it easily eclipse the 1735 kg (3700 pounds) GT Roadster in a 100 meters race. But, the drop-top has a higher top speed which could help beat the quadcopter in 200 meters and 300 meters sprints? Does it?
