McLaren has confirmed that examples of its W1 hypercar are heading to Australia, giving local enthusiasts a chance to get their hands on one of the brand’s most exclusive models.
The British marque has not revealed exactly how many W1s are destined for Australia, but McLaren Australia says local customers have already commissioned bespoke examples through McLaren Special Operations (MSO). Deliveries are expected to begin in the near future.
The W1 is the latest chapter in McLaren’s flagship ‘1’ lineage, following the legendary F1 and P1. It is also an exceptionally rare car, with production limited to just 399 examples worldwide.
In fact, all build slots were allocated shortly after the W1 was revealed in October 2024, meaning Australian cars will be part of an already sold-out production run.
Power comes from a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 paired with a motorsport-derived electric motor. Combined output stands at an extraordinary 938 kW (1,257 hp) and 1,340 Nm (988 lb ft) of torque.
