McLaren P1 LM Gunning For Nurburgring Lap Record
The McLaren P1 LM is a tribute to the Le Mans winning F1 GTR and its road-legal counterpart the F1 LM. Now, the company that built the 1995 Le Mans racer and recently the P1 LM is gunning for a Nurburgring lap record.
A prototype McLaren P1 LM has been spotted at the Nurburgring undergoing final testing before the exclusive supercars are delivered to their owners. Lanzante will build just six units of the McLaren P1 LM which was first showcased at the 2016 Goodwood Festival of Speed.
The P1 LM is based off the P1 GTR- a limited edition version of the P1. It packs a 986 hp V8 engine but unlike the standard P1, has rather extensive aerodynamics package. The massive rear wing is one of the upgrades that the P1 LM gets along with a bespoke suspension tune.
Lanzante will be attempting to set a lap time with the P1 LM later. We can expect it to be quicker than the alleged 7 min lap set by the standard P1.
