McLaren P1 damaged by Hurricane Ian listed on Copart

Remember the McLaren P1 damaged during hurricane Ian that struck the Florida coast this September? Well, the same flood damaged P1 has now popped up on Copart.

The yellow hypercar has been listed on the auction site with an estimated value of $229,510, which should make it the cheapest McLaren P1 ever. Now, you would be thinking, who in their right mind would want this P1. Well, it would be the perfect project car someone like Tavarish. In fact, according Carscoops, VinWiki’s Ed Bolian and Tyler Hoover from Hoovie’s Garage are interested in purchasing it.

That being said, Ed is said to have an interesting plan in mind for this P1. He wants to replace the twin-turbo V8 hybrid with a less complicated non-hybrid powertrain.

As per the listing, the primary damage was due to flooding. The car also appears to have secondary mechanical damage, which includes a broken windshield and door mirror. Of course, replacement parts for the P1 won’t come cheap.

Watch this space, as we will soon find out if this McLaren P1 will be heading to the Car Wizard’s workshop or to Ed Bolian for a heart transplant.
