Bonhams is all set to auction a pair of special Mercedes SLR McLaren supercars at the Goodwood Festival of Speed on July 14. Manny Khoshbin, are you listening?
What makes these McLaren SLRs unique is the spec. Both cars are painted in a super-rare Canary Yellow. On offer is an SLR Roadster with a red interior and a burgundy soft top, while the other is a one-off Crown Edition coupe.
The Roadster is said to be in pristine condition, with just 62 miles on its odometer, while the SLR McLaren Crown Edition has a mere 25 miles.
The latter is based on the more sought-after “722 Edition”, which is evident from the carbon front splitter, rear diffuser, and polished 5-spoke 722 wheels.
Powering the SLR McLaren 722 Edition is powered by the same 5.4-liter supercharged V8 as the standard model. However, it has been re-tuned to generate 641 hp @ 6500 rpm and 605 lb-ft @ 4000 rpm. The car also has a stiffer suspension and a lower ride height.
Manny Khoshbin is a big fan of the SLR and owns multiple coupes and roadsters. He recently took delivery of a McLaren SLR HDK. A matching pair of yellow SLRs would be a great addition to his collection.
