The Lamborghini Urus SE Performante has leaked ahead of its official debut. It uses the same plug-in hybrid powertrain as the standard Urus SE, but packs slightly more power and is a tad bit lighter.
The 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 plug-in hybrid delivers 800 hp and 738 lb-ft of torque. That’s 11 hp and around 37 lb-ft more than the standard version. Lamborghini claims a 0-62 mph time of 3.3 seconds and a top speed of 194 mph, which makes it the fastest “super-SUV” on the planet.
The engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, which transmits power to all four wheels. Positioned under the luggage compartment is a 25.9 kWh battery pack, which gives it an electric-only range of 37 miles.
Lamborghini has also made other changes besides the engine. The new Urus SE Performante has a carbon fibre hood, roof and side skirts. It also comes wiht a lighter Akrapovic exhaust system, which helps shave off around 32 kg from the overall kerb weight.
The Performante comes with a bespoke body kit designed to improve downforce and reduce drag. It has a sporty front bumper, nostrils on the bonnet, a redesigned rear bumper with a diffuser, a carbon fibre gurney flap and an additional roof spoiler. These modifications help reduce drag by 3%, while overall downforce is up by 23%.
Lamborghini has also tweaked the air suspension. The company claims lower vibrations, less roll and sharper, more agile handling characteristics.
