The Lamborghini Revuelto SV has already set a production-car lap record at Germany’s Hockenheimring, but the Italian marque has no plans to chase a Nurburgring record with its latest V12 supercar.
Lamborghini says the decision is deliberate. The company uses the Nurburgring primarily for testing, while Hockenheimring provides a more approachable reference for customers who may want to experience their cars on track.
The Revuelto SV completed Hockenheim’s 2.8-mile Grand Prix circuit in 1 minute 41.6 seconds on August 6, which Lamborghini describes as the fastest lap by a production super sports car at the circuit. The longer Nurburgring Nordschleife, by comparison, stretches for 12.9 miles and presents a considerably different challenge.
That makes Lamborghini’s decision somewhat surprising. The brand previously used the Nurburgring with both the Aventador SVJ and Huracan Performante, setting production-car records there.
For now, the Revuelto SV’s Hockenheim performance remains its headline achievement. Whether Lamborghini eventually changes its mind about the Nurburgring remains to be seen.

Revuelto SV hasn’t set any production car record at Hockenheimring, because both AMG One and Senna have already posted faster lap times than Revuelto SV, the AMG One is definitely considered a production car in Germany where Hockenheimring is present, even at Nürburgring, AMG One gets categorized as a production super sports car, don’t quote these sources which are backed by Lamborghini’s marketing bs.
And of course Lamborghini has given a pass to posting Nürburgring Nordschleife lap times ever since a notary was formed in 2019, the notary has been given the duty to scrutinize lap time data and verify specifications of the cars used for posting the lap time. Looks like Misha Charoudin was really onto something when he called out Lambo’s dubious and speed up Nürburgring Nordschleife lap video with the Huracán Performante. Both Huracán Performante and Aventador SVJ had posted lap times at Nürburgring before 2019 and there was no official body who verified the lap time data and specifications for both cars.
