Lamborghini Aventador SVJ sets new Nurburgring Lap Record

The Lamborghini Aventador SVJ has set a new Nurburgring lap record. The supercar went around the circuit in 6 min 44.97 seconds. Earlier, Lamborgini had hinted that Aventador SVJ had beaten the Porsche 911 GT2 RS’ time. However, no one would’ve expected it to beat it by more than 2.3 seconds.

This time Lamborghini made sure they installed on-board cameras and telemetry equipment to avoid any controversy. The Aventador SVJ also features second-gen active aerodynamics, which Lamborghini calls – Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva (ALA 2.0). It is powered by an updated 6.5-litre, naturally-aspirated V12 engine with a higher power output compared to the standard SV. The SVJ is also claimed to be lighter than the SV, boasting a power-to-weight ratio of 1.98 hp/kg.

Here’s the on-board footage of the record run.

The Aventador SVJ will be unveiled at Pebble Beach in August 2018.
