Koenigsegg Jesko’s fire-breathing V8 engine sounds angry
The Koenigsegg Jesko is on a tour of Europe as part of Ghost Squadron 2021. Last week, the entourage of hypercars visited France with a quick stopover at the Circuit Ecuyers near Paris.
Automotive Mike was covering the event and has compiled this video. Jump to 4:08 to watch the Jesko being thrashed around the racetrack and let’s know what you think about that twin-turbo V8 sound. We think it sounds like a typical Koenigsegg V8, but slightly angrier. It even spits flames on the overrun.
At around the 9:00 mark, you can hear the Jesko idling before the driver stomps on the throttle. Notice how fast the V8 revs. The brutal V8 rumble is accompanied by the sound of the turbos spooling. As we all know, it makes 1280 hp on regular fuel and 1600 hp on E85, while peak torque is rated at 1106 lb-ft. The motor is mated to a Koenigsegg’s Light Speed Transmission (LST).
