Ken Block drives his first Electric Race Car

Ken Block is usually seen driving loud and angry cars, mostly sideways.

This year however, the pro rally driver swapped his machine for something very different. Ken drove his first electric race car.

Ken Block flew to Saudi Arabia to take part in the final stage of the 2020 Dakar Rally. His ride for the day was the all new Extreme E Mission 21 racecar. It’s an all-electric off-roader that has around 550 hp and about 750 lb-ft of torque. It weighs around 1500 kg. The car is fully kitted out for the kind of terrain you’d expect at a Dakar event. It’s almost like an off-road buggy with massive suspension and knobbly tires.

Ken seems fairly impressed with the electric race car after the first shakedown. Has Ken finally caught the bug?
