Hit & run: Semi-truck crashes into a $3 million Ferrari F40 LM

In a rather unfortunate incident, a semi-truck crashed into a $3 million Ferrari F40 LM just outside Salt Lake City, Utah. The truck driver reportedly sped off after sideswiping the car.

The F40 LM is owned by the famous collector @supercar_ron. According to the details shared by him on social media, he was driving on the I-15 southbound at around 9:58 pm on Saturday, June 28, when a semi-truck hauling a large tanker “essentially performed a PIT manoeuvre on him”.

The owner goes on to explain that by the time he could regain control of the F40, the truck had disappeared into the distance.

The accident caused substantial damage to the bodywork of the F40. The video shared by the owner shows layers of carbon fibre and Kevlar composite peeling off. It includes the driver-side door panel, rear quarter panel, rocker panel and rear bumper. The driver-side rear wheel was also completely destroyed by the impact.

We hope the transport company has a decent insurance policy, as the repair costs for a car this valuable won’t be cheap.

@supercar_ron was the first person in America to take delivery of an Aston Martin Valkyrie Spider.
