Hennessey Twin-Turbo C8 Corvette makes 643 HP on the Dyno

Earlier this month, John Hennessey took delivery of his C8 Corvette. He drove the car 1500 miles all the way from Detroit. The next day, he took the car out for a track day at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas.

Once back at the shop, the wizards at Hennessey Performance installed two turbochargers and within no time, the C8 was ready to hit the dyno. Hennessey has just released this video of the dyno run.

For starters, the twin-turbo C8 Corvette sounds brilliant. The turbines also help extract a few more ponies out of the 6.2-liter V8 engine. With the modifications, the engine makes 643 hp @ 6200 rpm and 573 lb-ft @ 4600 rpm. In comparison, a stock C8 Corvette equipped with the Z51 package has 495 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque.

This is just the start and we can expect Hennessey to turn up the boost to hit a peak output figure of over 1000 hp. Now, that would be something else!
