Hardcore Ferrari 812 GTO Spied in Maranello
Could we see a more hardcore Ferrari 812 GTO at Geneva?
It seems Ferrari is putting the final touches on a spruced up Ferrari 812 Superfast. This high performance version could be positioned above the 812 GTS.
A test mule of what is being referred to as the 812 GTO has been spotted around Maranello. The aggressive body kit suggests that this is most likely a more hardcore version of the regular 812. The front end features a new grille and ducts that are now vertically split. The side skirts appear to have been extended as well.
The rear looks wider and bulkier. The extractor vents behind the fenders are gone. These are likely to be replaced with vents around the exhausts, while the rear diffuser seems unchanged.
Now, the regular 812 Superfast uses a 6.5-liter V12 engine that delivers 800 hp @ 8500 rpm and 530 lb-ft @ 7000 rpm. The engine is hooked up to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The so-called 812 GTO could get a more powerful iteration of the same engine.
We hope to learn more about the new version of the 812 by the time the 2020 Geneva Motor Show opens its doors for the public.
