As per media reports, GM is going to invest $150 million to build a new ICE-powered Cadillac. The company plans to put its money in the Spring Hill Assembly to “support a future Cadillac internal-combustion product.”
Apart from this info, GM has not disclosed any more details regarding its investment or which Cadillac model would be coming out from it.
Speculations say that it could be the updated XT5 and/or CT5. Or it could be something totally different and new. Expectations are that GM will shed more light on this matter in the future.
In other news, last month, Cadillac revealed its most powerful Blackwing yet. Called the 2026 CT5-V Blackwing F1 Collector Series, it is a limited-run model built to celebrate the brand’s Formula 1 debut on home soil at the Miami Grand Prix 2026.

Delighted to hear GM is returning to production of an “ICE” power plant in the near future. Hoping it will have sufficient power to handle (for example) a fully loaded XT6 with plenty of “zip.” NOTE: Have been fortunate to drive GM V-8s over the years and have always enjoyed sufficient power. I now need to step down to a smaller SUV, but I still need power. Thanks for your consideration.
