Get a Sneak Peek at The Cars of the 2018 Gumball 3000
The Gumball 3000 starts today. The rally which sees the craziest of car enthusiasts from around the world get together for a 3000 mile road-trip filled with car shows, music concerts and more is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. Starting in London, the participants will drive their heavily customized and stickered cars all the way to Tokyo, Japan.
The rally will start on Sunday, August 5, 2018 with a pop-up store and supercar display at Covent Garden being held on Saturday. The rally will head to Chantilly, France before continuing to Milan, Italy on Monday, August 6. On Tuesday, the rally will reach Bologna, Italy and from there, entrants will fly all the way to Osaka, Japan for the next leg.
Over in Japan, the Gumball 3000 will visit Kyoto and Nano. The finale will be held in Tokyo on Saturday, August 11. The Gumball Finale Party featuring numerous public events and parties will take place on Sunday, August 12 in the Japanese capital.
But before any of the action starts, all the car owners must get together in a secret garage to perform the most important Gumball 3000 ritual – put art on their cars. James from the Youtube channel Mr JWW is taking part in this year’s Gumball 3000 in his Porsche 991.2 GT3. He is among the 100 supercar owners headed to Japan and has exclusive access to the secret London garage where the Gumball 3000 cars are being kept and customized.
Besides ‘commoners’ such as Porsches, McLarens and Ferraris, this year’s event will include oddities like the KTM X-Bow and the Lamborghini Urus.
We wish the best to all the participants. Happy Rallying!
