Ferrari Amalfi Spider revealed: Open top beauty

Ferrari has taken the covers off its newest front-engined convertible, the Amalfi Spider. It looks just as gorgeous as the coupe, if not better, and carries forward the same V8 engine.

The Amalfi Spider comes with a fabric roof, which can be raised or lowered in 13.7 seconds at up to 37 mph. The roof itself is made from five layers that help improve noise insulation. It also has an active rear spoiler.

The roof mechanism also takes a toll on the boot capacity. Instead of 255 litres, the Spider has 172 litres of luggage space when the roof is down. It also makes the car 80 kg heavier than the coupe.

Under the bonnet is the same 3.9-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, which makes 631 hp and 562 lb-ft of torque. Despite the weight penalty, the Amalfi Spider can sprint from 0-62 mph in 3.3 seconds and has a top speed of 199 mph.
