Ex-F1 driver spotted driving his Aston Martin Valkyrie in Monaco

Ex-Formula 1 driver David Coulthard has been spotted in his Aston Martin Valkyrie in Monaco.

Coulthard’s Valkyrie is no. 86 of 150. It is finished in Marina Blue and has a light blue Alcantara interior. For a bit of contrast, the wheels are painted silver. The video shows the F1 ace driving around the crowded streets of the principality. Not the most ideal place to drive a 1000+ hp hypercar, but it’s certainly the best tool to announce your arrival.

The Aston Martin Valkyrie is essentially a racecar for the road. It was developed in collaboration with Red Bull Racing – Coulthard’s former racing team, and was designed by none other than Adrian Newey.

Powering this radical beast is a Cosworth-sourced 6.5-liter, naturally-aspirated V12 engine that revs to 11,000 rpm to produces over 1000 hp. The Valkyrie is a no-nonsense hypercar designed for the racetrack. As such, comfort was not really a priority. In fact, it gets so loud inside the cabin that Aston Martin has had to provide headsets with an intercom system.
