Last month, Youtuber Jordan Maron took delivery of his BAC Mono R. We were quite impressed with the spec when we first saw the images. The car is finished in a dual-tone Red carbon with Gold accents and matching wheels.
That being said, the BAC Mono R is more than just a car you drive to your local Car n Coffee on a weekend. This lightweight, open-cockpit machine is designed to carve corners. That’s exactly what Jordan has been up to.
He recently posted a POV video of driving the Mono R over twisty canyon roads. As you would imagine, the driving experience doesn’t get any more visceral than this.
The BAC Mono R is powered by a 2.5-liter, 4-cylinder engine that makes 338 hp and 243 lb-ft of torque. The engine is mated with a 6-speed sequential gearbox that can be controlled via paddles. The Mono weighs merely 555 kg, resulting in a power-to-weight ratio of 605 hp per tonne.
The car rides on pushrod-activated double wishbone suspension with adjustable Ohlins dampers and Eibach springs, while braking is handled by carbon ceramic discs with AP Racing calipers.
