When Ferrari launches a faster version of its most popular mid-engined supercar, we tend to forget how capable the standard model was in the first place. It happened with the 458 and more recently with the 488 GTB.

Yes, the 488 Pista makes headlines and gets all the attention. However, the standard 488 is still a 200 mph car. Powered by a 3.9-liter, twin-turbo V8 engine that develops 661 hp @ 8000 rpm and 561 lb-ft of torque at 3000 rpm, the 488 has enough grunt to accelerate from 0-62 mph in 3 seconds. Ferrari claims that it will reach a top speed of 205 mph.
