Detailed tour of the Porsche Carrera GT by DK Engineering

DK Engineering is back with a highly insightful user’s guide. This time we get a complete tour of the legendary Porsche Carrera GT.

The Carrera GT was manufactured between 2004 and 2006. Only 1270 examples were produced, and the one you see in the video is one of just 40 ‘paint to sample’ cars. It’s also the only example with a Midnight Blue exterior.

In the video, James takes us through all the switches and controls inside the car, of which there aren’t a whole lot. The Carrera GT is one of the last analogue supercars with fewer complicated electronics. So, the controls are pretty straight forward.

Even the 2-piece roof is fairly easy to remove. It can be stored in the front compartment, where a handy diagram explains the right way to secure the roof panels.

The 5.2-liter V10 engine is what makes the Carrera GT so special. It sits inside a carbon fibre cradle at the back. The motorsport-derived unit pumps out 603 hp and 435 lb-ft of torque, which is transferred to the rear axle via a 6-speed manual gearbox.
