Canadian Corvette Z06 cop car is straight out of NFS Most Wanted

Canadian police have adopted a new strategy to attract new recruits. The Ontario Provincial Police showcased a Corvette Z06 cop car at the 2023 Canadian International Auto Show in the hopes of wooing young officers to the force.

The Corvette Z06 cop car was put on display by the OPP Highway Safety Division. The supercar was wrapped in police colours and OPP decals. It also sported a ‘3-088’ decal, which is said to represent the racing numbers of Dale Earnhardt and Dale Earnhardt Jr. While the Z06 may have been wrapped just for the occasion, it did sport flashing red and blue lights.

The Corvette Z06 packs a mid-mounted 5.5-liter V8 engine featuring a flat-plane crank, dual overhead cams and dry sump lubrication. It produces 670 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque, which would be perfect for a pursuit car. Unfortunately, this car was used purely for promotional purposes.

It would be great to see a Z06 chasing down criminals, though. It reminds us of all the high-adrenaline chases we’ve had in NFS Most Wanted.
