Bugatti pays homage to Chief Designer Achim Anscheidt
Bugatti has released a video that pays homage to Achim Anscheidt, the Chief Designer at the firm. Anscheidt joined Bugatti back in 2004 as the Director of Design and is credited with contributions not just to series production cars but also rare one-off works bearing the Bugatti logo.
Achim Anscheidt Tribute Video
Anscheidt has been with the company for 19 years. He came onboard before the Veyron launch and will exit when Chiron’s tenure is almost over.
The video starts with the Veyron Grand Sport. It cycles through the various special edition like the Super Sport and Grand Sport Vitesse. The 2009 Bugatti Galibier concept, a four seater with four doors is also shown. Sadly, this car never made it to production. Volkswagen was not very happy with the design of the Galibier. Hence, Anscheidt continued with the Chiron.
Then comes the Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo concept, which was designed specially for the Playstation 4 game – Gran Turismo Sport. While one might expect this car to be just a digital render, there is a prototype built in 2015 based on the Chiron.
After this we can see the Bugatti Atlantic concept. This unique car was a front engined vehicle which would complement the mid-engined Chiron. The Atlantic concept had a long hood, with a V8 engine. Unfortunately this car was never revealed to the public.
Then, the 2016 Chiron is showcased. Known for its 1600 HP W16 engine and creating a new vehicle segment in the luxury supercar space. Anscheidt is also credited with factory models like the Divo, Bolide, Centodieci and the one-off La Voiture Noire to name a few.
Bugatti Chiron’s successor
Bugatti has started development of the Chiron’s successor since the last two years. Anscheidt has been a part of it. The new car will debut in 2024 with deliveries expected to commence in 2026.
