‘Bugatti Mistral’ could be the official name of the Chiron Roadster

Bugatti is all set to reveal an open-top hypercar on August 19. We’ve been calling it the Chiron Roadster all this while, but we may have just stumbled upon its official name. Rumors suggest that the new model could be called Bugatti Mistral.

‘Mistral’ is a cold, strong, northwesterly wind that blows from southern France into the northern Mediterranean. This fits with what Bugatti has been teasing all this while. If you see their website, it even shows waves breaking along the shore.

We also got a glimpse of the car in the teasers that were posted on the brand’s social media. These videos suggest that the Bugatti Mistral will have a completely new headlamp concept featuring four horizontal LEDs. The car also has a Bolide-inspired X-shaped light graphic at the rear.

The Bugatti Mistral will use the most potent version of the 8.0-liter W16 engine. The mighty 1600 hp ‘Thor’ engine will be roped in one last time before it is retired for good.
