Bugatti Chiron will be launched later next year and while we are still waiting for an official unveiling of the next hypercar, Bugatti is busy tweaking and fine tuning the Chiron. To help them achieve the best performance and dynamics, the Chiron is being tested on public roads along with a Veyron SS, Porsche 918 Spyder, Lamborghini Huracan and a BMW i8.

As we all know, the new Bugatti Chiron will be a hybrid and that explains why a Porsche 918 and BMW i8 make up the convoy of test cars. The Porsche along with the i8 make use of some of the most advanced hybrid drivetrains around should provide a perfect test bed for Bugatti engineers.

The Bugatti Chiron is expected to use the same 8.0-liter W16 engine from the Veyron with some major overhauling. Power is expected to be around 1500 hp while the all-wheel drive system from the old car will be retained. That said, the a newly developed hybrid-electric drive will be employed for the first time. The production of the Chiron will be limited to 500 units with each costing around $2.5 million.
