The Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport is currently on a tour of the United States. The hypercar is visiting dealerships across the country to give potential customers and journalists a taste of what’s it like to drive Bugatti’s latest offering. Now, according to reports, the Pur Sport demo car was involved in a minor accident in St. Louis, Missouri.
On April 2, Holman Motorcars had organized test drives for potential customers. According to reports, an invitee, who had taken the car out for a drive bumped into a Toyota Corolla. Apparently, he slammed the loud pedal a little too hard and couldn’t stop in time.
Although it was a minor bump, Corolla’s rear bumper received a big dent. Rumors suggest that Chiron Pur Sport sustained quite a bit of damage. It is said that about $200,000 worth of carbon fibre was damaged.
The Pur Sport is powered by an 8.0-liter, quad-turbo W16 engine which pumps out 1500 hp and 1180 lb-ft. The engine revs to 6900 rpm, 200 rpm higher than the standard Chiron. 0-62 mph comes up in 2.3 seconds instead of 2.4 seconds and 124 mph comes up in 5.5 seconds instead of 6.1 seconds. The top speed is limited to 217 mph.
