Bugatti CEO shows what it’s like to drive the open-top Mistral

Bugatti CEO Mate Rimac has shared a video of the open-top Mistral. The purpose of the video is to demonstrate one of the best features of the car.

The Bugatti Mistral is the first and only open-top model based on the Chiron platform. Without the roof, you not only get an infinite view of the heavens and wind in your hair but can also hear the W16 literally breathe in your ear.

As Mate demonstrates, the engine intake is located just behind the driver and passenger seats. It’s the best spot to experience the 8.0-liter quad-turbocharged W16 engine. With every application of the throttle, you can hear the turbos feed on air as they spool up and propel the car forwards. The legendary W16 delivers 1600 hp, all of which is transferred to all four wheels.

The Mistral also holds the top speed record for an open-top production car. Last year, the Mistral clocked 282 mph on the high-speed oval at Automotive Testing Papenburg in Germany.
