The BMW M2, fitted with the M Performance Track Kit, has just clocked a 7:25.068 lap time around the Nürburgring Nordschleife—officially verified by TÜV Rheinland.
And it wasn’t a clean run either. The lap, set on 22 May, came under tough conditions, with high track temperatures and even oil traces in the tricky T13 section. Yet, the BMW M2 pushed through, and was 0.5 seconds quicker than the previous benchmark set by the M2 CS.

The Track Kit brings a comprehensive overhaul. You get an adjustable front splitter, aero flicks, and a swan-neck rear wing with a dedicated Race Mode. It’s functional aero, not just for show.
Apart from that, there is a motorsport-derived coilover suspension system—road-legal for the first time. The chassis setup, developed with BMW M engineers and fine-tuned by record-setting test driver Jörg Weidinger, delivers sharper turn-in, improved stability, and greater confidence through high-speed sections.
What makes this even more impressive is usability. Despite its track-focused hardware, the package retains road approval, making it a proper dual-purpose machine.
