Bystander damages a Pagani Utopia on delivery day

A supercar owner’s worst nightmare came true when his brand-new Pagani Utopia was damaged on delivery day after an umbrella was accidentally dropped on it.

According to reports, the dealership had organized a public event at the request of the owner who is known to share his supercars with enthusiasts. Despite the weather, a fairly large number of people came out to see the Utopia. In a freak accident, a car spotter dropped his umbrella, which scratched the front fender.

It is also said that the car was fresh off the showroom floor and had no paint protection film (PPF) installed on it. That being said, the damage does seem superficial and should get fixed with a simple polish.

The car itself, though, looks quite stunning. It has exposed carbon fibre bodywork with a teal green finish and silver wheels.

Powering the Utopia is the same 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12 engine, which produces 864 hp @ 6000 rpm and 811 lb-ft of torque @ 2800-5900 rpm. It is paired with either a 7-speed automated manual or a proper stick shift with three pedals.

It’s wet! Surely more damaging than the light bump of a mostly plastic brolly

wth ? It’s carbon fiber… an umbrella won’t dent it. The paint is so good a scratch should just be cut & then buffed out by a detail professional. It’s an insured car, so if that doesn’t satisfy the customer then it’s covered. No need for a new car.
