Peitz Performance has partnered with Tremec to offer a manual transmission for the Chevrolet C8 Corvette. The transmission swap costs $74,528, which isn’t exactly cheap, but it should completely transform the driving experience.
Peitz is offering a Tremec TR9060 6-speed transaxle for the C8 Corvette. The package comprises a new flywheel and clutch, a concentric slave cylinder, and a modified clutch pedal from a Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing. The transmission uses a MoTeC M182 plug-and-play ECU controller that even allows for the fitment of nitrous and methanol systems and a MoTeC M150 TCU.
Now, the stock C8 Corvette comes with an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic, which is also sourced from Tremec. The 6.7-liter V8 powering the base Corvette delivers 535 hp and 520 lb-ft of torque. The new 6-speed manual is said to be capable of handling up to 1,000 lb-ft of torque.
