The Mercedes-AMG C63 could make a comeback and this time, buyers might have a choice between petrol and electric power. The German brand has yet to confirm a new C63, but its latest comments suggest the idea is being explored.
Mercedes-Benz Chief Technology Officer Jörg Burzer said the company is “working on both” when asked about future AMG 63 models with combustion engines and electric power. He also gave the same response when questioned about offering both versions of the C63, although no production plans have been confirmed.

The move would make sense given the mixed reception of the current C63’s four-cylinder plug-in hybrid setup. While it delivers serious performance, the departure from the traditional V8 formula has disappointed some long-time AMG fans.
Mercedes-AMG has already confirmed that the four-cylinder C63 will be discontinued. For now, there are no specifications or launch dates for a new C63.
