Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna has given an unusually enthusiastic response to the Tesla Roadster’s unconventional reveal, praising both the event itself and the technology behind it.
Speaking at a recent automotive conference, Vigna reportedly awarded the Roadster presentation a 10 out of 10, along with another 10 for the technology used to make the spectacle possible.
Rather than focusing on the Roadster’s headline performance claims, Vigna highlighted what the event represented for the wider car industry. He said it showed that there is still plenty of room to innovate and encouraged manufacturers to keep taking risks.
The Ferrari boss also praised Tesla and SpaceX for demonstrating that innovation can come from outside traditional automotive thinking. While Tesla and SpaceX are separate companies, both are led by Elon Musk and collaborated on elements of the Roadster’s unconventional presentation.
