The upcoming Mercedes-AMG SUV has been spotted testing several times, but the carmaker is yet to take the wraps off it. In the meantime, these digital renderings offer an idea of what the high-performance machine could look like.

The design appears to borrow heavily from the new GT 4-Door Coupe. Up front, the SUV gets a similar grille and slim headlights, although the revised detailing gives it a more muscular face. A prominent splitter, sporty Y-spoke alloy wheels and red brake calipers add to the aggressive look.

The side profile is enhanced by the roof rails and flush door handles, while the pretty low stance makes the SUV look more like a raised performance car than a traditional off-roader.

At the rear, the renderings show taillights inspired by the GT 4-Door Coupe, an integrated diffuser and a body-coloured roof spoiler. The proportions look convincing, though the final production design could differ.

Mercedes-AMG hasn’t confirmed the name or powertrain yet. However, reports suggest it could share technology with the GT 4-Door, potentially delivering up to 1,153 hp and 1,475 lb-ft of torque.
