A BMW M2 Turbo Design Edition has been listed for sale for $127,000 at a dealership in the United States. That’s almost a $30,000 markup for what is essentially an M2 with a few options and cosmetic add-ons.

To put this in context, the M2 CS costs $99,775, which is more track-focused and has 50 hp more than the standard M2.

The M2 Turbo Design Edition was launched in October last year at Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta. The limited-edition model is an homage to the BMW 2002 turbo.

The Turbo Design Edition comes in an Alpine White exterior colour with hand-painted BMW Motorsport stripes on the hood and around the edge of the boot lid. It has a carbon fibre roof with the M stripes, a carbon fibre rear lip spoiler and a black power dome.

Inside, you get turbo badging on the sill plates, cupholder cover and the decklid. Customers also get optional M Carbon bucket seats, Style 1000M wheels in matte gold bronze and the M Driver’s Package, which raises the top speed to 177 mph.

Under the hood is the same 3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder engine as the standard M2. It produces 473 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque and is paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
