McLaren has released the first teaser of its upcoming model, the P50. It will be unveiled on August 14 at Monterey Car Week.
The McLaren P50 is inspired by the M6GT, which is featured in the teaser video, along with the brand’s founder Bruce McLaren.
The M6GT was McLaren’s first road car, which was developed from the M6A Can-Am race car. It had a 5-speed manual gearbox. Similarly, the new P50 will also offer a manual transmission. However, we don’t know whether it’s an old-school H-pattern or a trick shift-by-wire gearbox like the 12Cilindri Manuale.
Earlier, we had reported that McLaren plans to build fewer than 100 examples of the P50. This figure may have changed as a result of high demand.
