This comes as a surprise. The Porsche 911 has significantly outsold the Taycan in the first half of 2026—and that too not by a small margin.
According to Porsche’s latest sales figures, the 911 recorded 30,534 deliveries globally, marking a healthy 19% increase. It’s also the only model in the lineup to post growth, with most others slipping—many by double digits.

In contrast, the all-electric Taycan range, including both sedan and Sport Turismo variants, dropped sharply by 25% to just 6,219 units.
Do the math—the Porsche 911 outsold the Taycan by nearly five to one. That’s unusual. Typically, more practical, four-door models dominate sales charts, especially in today’s market. But the 911 continues to defy that logic.

Part of this success comes down to variety. Recent derivatives like the GTS, Turbo, and hardcore GT models have kept the lineup fresh and desirable. There’s a 911 for nearly every kind of enthusiast.
The Taycan’s decline, meanwhile, hints at a cooling demand for premium EVs in certain markets, or perhaps just increased competition.
